The innovative wood-stave-finishing process starts with fully matured Maker's Mark® at cask strength and after much experimentation, adding seared French oak (or Stave Profile No. 46) to fully matured Maker's Mark was just what Bill, Jr., was looking for. The result? Bolder and more complex, but without the bitterness typical of longer-aged whiskies.
